Packing Your Bags Without The Worry!

More people are purchasing travel insurance than ever before. Around 70% of travelers purchase this little policy that gives them peace of mind. Oftentimes, trips are booked several months to a year in advance. Because time and chance happens to everyone, there is no way to predict what unforeseen events might happen.

Several travel insurance companies, can provide policies that will allow people to secure their funds against the unknown. There are many kinds of policies, which one can obtain. The most common, are those which cover the expense. One can have peace of mind, if an airline or cruise line goes out of business, or if one is unable to make the journey due to illness or extenuating circumstances. There are even plans, which will allow protection against theft, such as a laptop or camera.

One might argue that it is an extra cost and unnecessary. However, statistics show that the small cost could pay off big, in the event your trip needs to be cancelled. It is just being smart to cover yourself in the event of an emergency.

Travel and Holiday Destinations

It goes without saying that there are a huge number of potential travel and holiday destinations you can choose from when planning a well deserved vacation. If you are looking for something unique, you should consider the following two choices.

Carnevale di Venzia

You have undoubtedly heard about the Carnival festival in Brazil each year associated with Lent. Well, this is a variation that takes place in Venice, Italy. Unlike the skimpy outfits found in the South American tradition, the Italian version involves people meeting up in the squares dressed in classic period costumes with opera masks and what have you. Think the time of Mozart and you can envision the style and period of the costumes. Orchestras play in the plazas and the city just oozes culture. It is an event that should be on your travel to do list particularly since rising water levels threaten the future of Venice.

Loi Krathong

You’ve probably never heard of Loi Krathong. It is often called the “Festival of Lights” and is held primarily in Thailand. It takes place in November each year and is a festival to celebrate Buddha. Regardless of your religious beliefs, it is something you have to see. The Thais spend weeks creating celebratory float pieces for the festival. Many involve putting a candle suspended in the bottom of a paper bag with a decorated base. On the night of the festival, millions of people come out, light the candles and let the pieces go. The heat from the candle forces the bags hundreds of feet up into the air. The sky is full of these lights. It is unlike anything you have ever seen and often looks like the sky is full of millions of glowing jelly fish. It is a vision you will never forget.

If you are looking for something a bit different this year when it comes to your travel and holiday destinations, Carnevale di Venzia and Loi Krathong are two definite possibilities. Both are the type of visual and cultural experiences that you will never forget. Isn’t that what a vacation should be all about?
